Denture Care

Proper upkeep of your dentures will not only make them more comfortable, but will also extend their life. Follow some simple steps and get on your way to a happier smile.

1) Remove and rinse - Debris may sometimes get stuck in your dentures, so remove your dentures and run water over them to remove any loose particles.

2) Clean your mouth - After removing your dentures, clean your mouth with a soft bristled brush to remove any bacteria that may be present.

3) Scrub your dentures - Just like brushing your teeth, your dentures too need a daily thorough scrub to remove any deposits. Don't use abrasive toothpastes like whitening toothpastes.

4) Handle with care - Don't bend your dentures or damage the clasps when cleaning.

5) Soak overnight - Soak your dentures in denture solution overnight. Be sure to not mix chlorine based solutions with dentures with metal attachments. Speak with your dentist to see which solution is right for you.

6) Rinse dentures post soak - After soaking your dentures, rinse them so you're not getting any solution in your mouth. 7) Regular checkups - Schedule regular check ups so that the state of your dentures don't get out of hand. A stitch in time, saves nine.
